Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety review: This three-wheeling comedy RIDES HIGH!

Movie: Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety

Cast: Kartik Aaryan, Sunny Singh, Nushrat Bharucha

Director: Luv Ranjan

Producers: T-Series and Luv Ranjan

Rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, in spite of its mile-long title, indeed makes a lot of sense because this film is essentially about Sonu (Kartik Aaryan) and his quest for saving his brother from another mother, Titu (Sunny Singh) from the clutches of Sweety (Nushrat Bharucha), the quintessential good girl to whom Sonu thinks there’s more than what meets the eye. And, hence begins the quest for saving the dude who you’re bromancing.

The film, much to our pleasant surprise, stays unpredictable throughout and makes it evident for us that director Luv Rangan of the Pyaar Ka Punchnama franchise frame has the capability of maintaining a vision even in the eye of a story that twists and turns in the blink of an eye.

Here, one can see Kartik Aaryan re-doing a version of the character he knows every pulse of by now – The cynical millennial that has a dash of borderline misogyny. And, we must say that it is something that fits him now like his favorite jacket. Sunny Singh, on the other hand, comes off convincingly as the hapless romantic in spite of his fairly imposing stature. In our heads, he would rather be the bro who would give you tough love to you when you’re feeling low, but, him toying around with all the tough love that Kartik was showering on him was a refreshing experience in all by itself.

Sweety, on the other hand, is someone who can really leave you questioning throughout this unpredictable third-wheeling drama and how the story ultimately culminates is a treat to watch all by itself.

Watch this film if you’re in the mood of some light-hearted comedy which will pack a punch in places you will NEVER see them coming in.
