Why Gerard Butler Opted Out Of Hunter Killer’s Saudi Arabia Premiere?
Gerard Butler, who will play the role of Commander Joe Glass in the upcoming submarine thriller Hunter Killer opted out of attending the Saudi Arabian premiere of the movie.
He was supposed to arrive in the capital, Riyadh for interviews and attend the premiere but after learning the about the news regarding Khashoggi he decided to opt out.
In an interview with a leading portal he said “Given the circumstances, it was no longer appropriate to make the trip,”
Now according to reports Jamal Khashoggi, A Saudi journalist was murdered by a 15 man hit squad after he was lured into the Saudi consulate in Turkey.
The Saudi kingdom has denied all the accusations but this has also changed the minds of many production houses. Saudi Arabia had finally opened up to Entertainment in the country after they had lifted bans on movie theatres last December.
Hunter Killer is directed by Donovan Marsh and it also stars Gary Oldman and Linda Cardellini. The movie is all set to release on October 26th in India.
