This director feels Aamir Khan is a bigger star than Jackie Chan in China!

Aamir Khan is one of the biggest stars in the country. However, after the historic success of films like Dangal and Secret Superstar in China, he has become a giant name in that country as well. Now there is one director who feels that he has arguably become a bigger name than the Chinese Superstar Jackie Chan. Any Guesses? He’s the Namaste England director Vipul Amrutlal Shah.

In a recent interview, while talking about Hindi Cinema and the growing competition from Netflix and Web-Series, this is what Shah stated, “But, I don’t think so, because if you make good films, people will come and see them. I don’t people have decided either we’ll see this or that. They have more options, more options make your job more challenging. And you have to accept the challenge and say, “Okay, I am gonna try and do something that’s going to be even better than comes on a digital platform. If you do that, people come. This year itself there enough proof of every month there’s one film has gone and done Rs 100 crore.

He continued, “And people have loved every kind of film this year. I don’t think, that’s something people should be worried of. The other thing that digital platform is doing is taking your cinema to the corners of the world that are unheard for Hindi films. Today when I open a Netflix and see a Hindi film that film has gone into 190 countries. So maybe in 5 years time there will be new market for Hindi cinema which didn’t know ever existed. To give you an example, today arguably Aamir Khan is bigger than Jackie Chan in China. He has conquered the market. So we need to open ourselves and accept the challenge and also look at the opportunity the challenge throws at us.
