Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan made his way into Bollywood with 1992’s Deewana. Though, it was just a supporting role, he managed to win the hearts of the audiences through his performance. His most special film, one of the most influential movies of Indian cinema, the cult classic, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ), was the turning point of his career. Since then, Shah Rukh Khan delivered back to back blockbusters which won him the title of ‘The King of Bollywood’.
Shah Rukh’s rule at the box office continued till 2010 and before that, he delivered two films, Chak De India and Om Shanti Om, which were immensely successful at the box office. Next year, he delivered another blockbuster with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi but two weeks later, Aamir Khan conquered the big screen with Ghajini. Again in 2013, he starred Chennai Express was the second highest hit of the year as a couple of months later; Khan broke it with Dhoom 3.
2014 was the last time Shah Rukh’s film entered the 200-crore mark with Happy New Year.
It was from the year 2015 that Shah Rukh Khan’s career graph went down as out of his 6 movies, only 3 were successful.
King Khan’s biggest hit since 1995 in terms box office collections remains only Chennai Express, both domestically and globally.
Hopefully, with Don 3, the uncrowned king should reign supreme again!
