Movie Review: Manmarziyaan- An emotional tale that deserves your heart

It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Anurag Kashyap strikes gold with ‘Manmarziyaan’. You can’t help but feel for the characters that leave a mark on you, even after you have left the cinema hall.

A love story directed by someone who is known for hard-hitting intense dramas and dark themes, everyone expected a lot from ‘Manmarziyaan’. Well, it did live up to the hype surrounding it.

Here are 3 reasons why it shouldn’t be missed at any cost-

1. Power packed performances

Abhishek, Tapsee and Vicky have delivered one of their best performances. Anurag Kashyap knows how to control his actors and it is evident in this movie. Vicky Kaushal is a star and he proved his versatility yet again with a power packed performance. Abhishek Bachchan as Robbie casts magic and this is the best comeback that his fans were waiting for. Tapsee Pannu makes her character Rumi so real and believable with her flawless acting and she has showed everyone what she is capable of. ‘Manmarziyaan’ is heavily relied on their performances and everyone has shown their A-game.

2. Story

Based in Punjab, the story revolves around the concept of love and lust and how love isn’t complicated but people are. Vicky and Rumi are passionate about each other and their love knows no boundaries. How their lives change when Robbie falls in love with Rumi, is the remaining plot. Will Rumi settle down with a matured and more stable Robbie or does she go back to her failed relationship with Vicky?

3. Music

The music in ‘Manmarziyaan’ is top notch and it perfectly fits the narrative. The songs are choreographed in a way that reflect the situations in the film. Whenever Amit Trivedi collaborates with Anurag Kashyap, we know there’s going to be magic.

‘Manmarziyaan’ is a poetic journey that runs high on emotions and tugs your heart. Anurag Kashyap is an artist and this film deserves your heart.

We give it 4/5 stars and must watch for everyone.
