Rating: 4/5 Stars
We were sincerely hoping for a twisted and engaging storyline, some well-choreographed action sequences and electrifying performances when we took the ticket for Salman Khan’s Race 3. And, 20 minutes into the film, we just knew that we were going to have a lot of fun! The film turned out to be MUCH MORE than what we expected from the film. The Salman Khan-starrer actioner is a slick, highly stylish and a thoroughly entertaining watch! This film, we believe, have given us enough of action, entertainment and hard-hitting dramatic pieces to forgive Salman for his last Eid release, Tubelight.
Race 3 is the (super-layered) story of a dysfunctional wealthy family, the patriarch of which is the powerful Shamsher Singh (Anil Kapoor), who has a favourite in his brother’s son, played by Sikander (Salman Khan) and has two children of his own, Sanjana (Daisy Shah) and Sooraj (Saqib Saleem). The family in question is complete with their trusted man Yash (Bobby Deol). Let us tell you that every episode that took place within this family were full of heavy yet superbly entertaining one-liners and every performer is bang on in these aesthetically pleasing sequences! But soon, things take a turn in the manner we have come to expect of a Race film, which proves that director Remo D’Souza has been as loyal as one can be to the franchise while he has made it a point to add his very own touch to the slick action flick, which, as Salman Khan rightfully pointed out, makes it a completely different film in a way!
Although, expectedly, superstar Salman Khan is the backbone of this film and he is as amazing and suave as one can probably be, words aren’t enough to express the delight of seeing Bobby Deol in an action avatar, which he has nailed beautifully! Admittedly, we were hit with a bit of nostalgia as we saw him tossing whoever came his way like nobody’s business!
Another highlight is Anil Kapoor as Shamsher. He clearly enjoyed his intense yet over-the-top character and that can be seen with total clarity. He is undoubtedly a treat to watch!
All in all, if you are craving for a dose of a gripping story, some superbly choreographed action and most importantly, some intense Race style drama, Salman Khan’s Eidi must be given a try and we bet that you will not regret being a part of this Race!
