WTF!
WTF: Here’s why SRK didn’t make it to the Academy list!
It was a moment of chest-puffing pride when the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Aishwarya Rai joined the list of 774 names who were invited to be the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, a list which includes names like Dwayne Jhonson, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth.
But, it was utterly surprising to see that while Aamir and Salman were included in the list, our very own Shah Rukh Khan was NOWHERE to be seen. When there is a list like this one, HOW can one possibly miss out on the Badshah of Bollywood?
Turns out, The Academy has its own reasons, and they are utterly nonsensical (and unarguably infuriating)
Here’s what the official statement from The Academy read “The basic requirement is that a candidate must have demonstrated exceptional achievement in the field of theatrical motion pictures.”
Wait, WHAT?
This comes as no surprise that now Twitter has a steaming debate going on, where the Twitterati is arguing is the likes of Deepika Padukone and Salman Khan are a part of the coveted list, why not Shah Rukh Khan? quite fair to ask, we say.
Anyway, what’s your take on The Academy’s reasoning? Do let us know!
