This is what Kangana Ranaut has to say on Rani Mukerji’s statement on the #MeToo movement!
Rani Mukerji’s controversial comment on the MeToo movement didn’t go well with many actors as well as the netizens. Even Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma, who were a part of the same panel, didn’t agree with the actress’ statement.
Now, the Manikarnika actress Kangana Ranaut, has come up with her stance on this matter. The actress, who is known for her outspoken nature said, “People who need support, who need to be empowered, we must empower but agar Rani Laxmi Bai jaise ladkiyan agar humari society humein de sakti hai toh why not, unko discourage nahi karna chahiye. If they are strong women, we should not discourage women. I was 16-years-old when I filed my first FIR against sexual assault so there are people who can stand up for themselves, they shouldn’t be discouraged.”
On being asked about the vulnerable children who often receives the end Kangana said, “Like I said, empowerment that need, they should be empowered, who need. But, not necessarily everyone needs. Some people can give empowerment also. Some people are givers, the ones who can should be encouraged to give strength, and people who are working with NGOs.”
On the work front, Kangana will be next seen in Manikarnika : The Queen Of Jhansi which is slated to release on 25th January.
