Salman Khan is gearing up for the release of his next film, Bharat, an adaptation of the Korean drama, An Ode To My Father. Comprising of an ensemble cast, it’s regarded as one of Khan’s most demanding roles yet, both emotionally and physically. A period drama spanning over six decades, from the era of the partition to the current year, Khan plays the role of a man in search of his father who has disappeared after India’s independence. And given the different eras shown in the film, the actor will don multiple looks with the help of major prosthetic.
Ali Abbas Zafar, who directs the star for the third time, recently said that they’ll shoot for the last schedule of Bharat on January 4 in Mumbai. Also talking about the sudden and shocking exit of Priyanka Chopra in July last year, and Salman’s subsequent reaction, he said, “Well, well, well… there were a lot of things that she was busy with. But I’m not gonna say anything more about my ‘nick in time’ comment on Twitter. We all know the reality and the truth of the situation. As I’ve always maintained, we, as team Bharat, are extremely happy for Priyanka and where she’s in life right now.”
He also added, “Whether it was the producers, Salman or me, as adults we understood her reasons and let her go. There’s only happiness between us. We’re friends and will always be friends.”
The film now stars Katrina Kaif in PeeCee’s place and is all set to release on EID 2019.
