Kangana Ranaut has always been known to touch upon the topics related to women empowerment. The actress is gearing up for her upcoming film, Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, where she will be seen in the role of Rani Laxmibai. Kangana, who is currently promoting the film in Hyderabad, revealed that she was just 16 when she was the victim of sexual assault.
She revealed, “I was 16-years-old when I filed my first FIR for sexual assault so there are people who can stand up for themselves, they shouldn’t be discouraged.”
Talking about women empowerment, she further added, “Empowerment who need, they should be empowered but not necessarily everyone needs. Some people can give empowerment also. Some people are givers, the ones who can be encouraged to give strength, and people who are working with NGOs.”
Directed by the actress and Krish Jagaralamudi, Manikarnika is set to hit the theaters on 25th January.
