Sholay director turns Dean!

We were at the inauguration ceremony of the Ramesh Sippy Academy of Cinema and Entertainment. And it was a moment which will mark the beginning of a new era in the film industry.

Ramesh Sippy was the mastermind behind the movie that even after 42 years is still enjoyed by every family : Sholay.

Fun fact: after adjusting for inflation, total collections of Sholay stands at a whopping 1600 crores! Beat that!

Facts aside, let’s talk about the main matter. The chief guest at Sippy’s inaugural ceremony was none other than his Jay from Sholay, Amitabh Bachchan! Amitabh Bachchan reminisced the original perfectionist in Sippy and his attention to great detail. He shared how a particular scene in Sholay took him three years to shoot simply
because the light conditions weren’t as per the scenes’ demands. That talks volumes about his character.

Ramesh Sippy Academy of Cinema and Entertainment (RSACE) intends on creating a generation of world class film makers and making the Film Industry one of the most important parts of the economy. Well, who would be better other than Ramesh Sippy and AB as a guest lecturer at the helm of it!

The advisory board of the Institute has esteemed personalities such as Vidya Balan, Jackie Shroff and Kabir Khan(The director one who just wrapped up Tubelight with Salman Khan)
