OOPS! Aamir Khan reveals he’s not making The Mahabharata
Aamir Khan was quite gung-ho and ecstatic about converting his life-long dream into celluloid reality with the cinematic adaptation of The Mahabharata. He stated many times how he plans to commence work on his magnum opus after he completes YRF’s Thugs Of Hindostan. However, in a heartbreaking reveal at the NDTV Yuva Conclave, the actor stated he’s not making this giant of a project anymore.
“Main Mahabharat nahi bana raha hun. Filhaal main sirf Thugs Of Hindostan pe kaam kar raha hun,” came the words out of his mouth! There are many factors owing to the same, first, it was reported that Khan was planning around a 1000-crore budget to make the film and secondly, it would have taken at least five years of his professional and personal time to complete and release it. Keeping all these criteria in mind and realizing this could be detrimental to his career, Khan could have taken this decision. However, we would still want to see how does one of the greatest battles in Indian History unfold on the silver screen!
We have had the animated version of The Mahabharata but it sadly sank without a trace!
