Kangana Ranaut to launch SSR’s ex in her next!

Kangana Ranaut made headlines when she chose to do Manikarnika- The Queen Of Jhansi and unveiled her first look from the film. What’s exciting about the film is that it has been penned down by the writer of Baahubali, K.V Vijayendra Prasad, so it’s surely not going to be a small deal. Turns out, things just got more exciting.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s estranged partner Ankita Lokhande of Pavitra Rishta fame is one of those TV celebrities whose Bollywood debut we have been waiting for. Turns out, we will FINALLY see her on the big screen, and that too as Jhalkaribai, the sword fighting advisor to Kangana Ranaut’s Rani Laxmibai.

Talking about this role, Ankita said “I’d never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I’m honoured that I’ll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangana’s Rani Laxmibai.”

History is proof of Jhalkaribai’s bravery and valour. She even allegedly disguised herself as the queen so that she could trick the British army during a battle.

Ankita, as of now, has completed a month of horse riding and sword fighting lessons. Talking about the film, she added “I am indebted to Kamal sir for this challenging role in a big – budget film scripted by Baahubali scriptwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad alongside a National-award winning actress like Kangana who exudes power and is an inspiration to all women. I am looking forward to learning from her once we start shooting in August.”
