CBFC is against the word ‘Pichwada’ from Badrinath Ki Dulhania!
As we all know dowry has always been a dreaded topic whether off-screen or on-screen. And this time around Badrinath Ki Dulhania has a hard-hitting reference to the dowry system in its script. But as usual, the Censor Board of Film Certification has gone against the movie for showing this frightful topic and demanded a clear-cut denial from the KJo film.
We’d also been updated by an insider from Bollywood about the fact that the dowry system plays a prominent part in the plot of the film, “Although the film and its makers in no way endorse the dowry system the censor board has demanded a clear disclaimer at the beginning of the opening credit titles stating the film and its makers do not endorse the dowry system.”
Apparently, it just isn’t the plot that’s bothering the CBFC, but also has also demanded the removal of the word ‘pichwada’ (backside) from Varun Dhawan’s dialogue. “Both Varun and Alia Bhatt are youth icons. They should be careful of what they say and the values they uphold on screen,”
Lately, the CBFC has been looking through at every Bollywood song through an extremely tight lens – let’s hope the other scenes of the film come out clean!
