Aamir Khan to star in the remake of Forrest Gump?

Aamir Khan, who’s currently gearing up for Thugs Of Hindostan and also working on his dream project, The Mahabharata, has already planned his third film it seems! The man who reinvented the remake trend with the 2008 blockbuster Ghajini is now planning to remake another classic but this time a Hollywood one. We are talking about Tom Hanks’ iconic drama Forrest Gump, that came out in 1994.

That was a moving tale of an autistic man who discovers the harsh truth as well the small pleasures of life. He tried to emulate that iconic performance in Dhoom 3 but didn’t really make an impression, let’ see what happens this time! A source says, “Aamir wants to make Forrest Gump in Hindi, which he will star in. He wants to play the lead role that Tom Hanks had essayed in the original. It has been on his wish list for some time. Scripting is currently underway. Aamir wants his team to rework the whole narrative, setting it in the Indian context.”

We have seen Shah Rukh Khan in My Name Is Khan and Salman Khan in Tubelight whose performances and characters echoed Hanks in every frame. One succeeded, the other failed. Will Aamir Khan hit the bullseye?
