Aamir’s ‘Dangal’ gets a special praise
Aamir Khan’s upcoming sports biopic ‘Dangal’ has got a thumbs up from someone very important from industry. Veteran actor Shabana Azmi watched the upcoming film at a special screening on her 66th birthday, which was arranged by Aamir. She said it was the best birthday gift for her. She posted multiple tweets talking highly about Aamir Khan, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Kiran Rao.
Shabana said, “’Dangal’ is brilliant. Another blockbuster from Aamir. It is beautifully scripted with very convincing performances. The girls are wonderful and it’s Aamir’s best performance to date. The gender politics are so relevant for the times and the unexpected climax will make even the most hardened heart cry. It is emotional without being sentimental. It’s a hundred per cent winner.”
As there was not much buzz about the film, Shabana Azmi has created a huge mountain of expectations from the film which will release on Christmas this year.
‘Dangal’ is said to be a biopic on former on former wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat who trained his two daughters, Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat in wrestling. Aamir will be seen playing both younger and older characters of Mahavir Phogat in the film, and he had put on weight up to 95 kg to play the older part and is currently in the process of bringing it down to around 70 kg.
