1st Day Box Office: Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar opens to an average response

Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim starrer Secret Superstar, has opened to an average response at the domestic box office.  The musical drama raked in around 4.80 crores on its first day at the box office. The business of the film was mainly affected due to the festive season of Laxmi Pujan, where people generally avoid going theaters.

Since the film has received positive reports across the country, the film is expected to perform well over the weekend. But the film will face stiff competition with Golmaal Again, which has taken a bumper opening across all the circuits in the country.

The story of Secret Superstar revolves around the life of a girl Insia, who belongs from a Muslim conservative family and aspires to be a singer. Aamir Khan portrays the character of a music director Shakti Kumar who helps to achieve her dreams.

Since Secret Superstar is a moderately budgeted film, it’ll not be a difficult task for the film to recover its investments.

The movie is produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, Akash Chawla, Sujay Kutty and B. Shrinivas Rao. It marks the directorial debut of Advait Chandan and also stars Meher Vij, Raj Arjun and Tirth Sharma in pivotal roles.
