Time and again, the makers of a film try to get a fresh pairing of male and female leads in a film, in the hopes that they will resonate with the audience. But, more often than not, those attempts don’t go down so well. But, in the process, certain on-screen pairings stick and stay with us for reasons that we don’t fully understand. Such pairings become timeless and immortal.
So, on this Valentine’s Day, let’s take a look at those pairings who we draw inspirations from when it comes to the matters of the heart.
From the cult that was DDLJ to an edge-of-the-seat thriller comedy like Duplicate and even a fun-filled popcorn entertainer like Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, we simply couldn’t get enough of the utterly sweet chemistry that these two share. They look like perfect pieces to a puzzle!
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s long history of doing films together such as Maine Pyar Kyu Kiya, Partner and even the most recent Tiger Film Franchise is known to all. And thus, here’s hoping to see more of them! Here, Katrina is almost always the balancing factor in the duo but the kind of affection that they bring to each other is too good to be true!
Together, amongst MANY films, have delivered some serious cult films such as Beta and Ram Lakhan, and we would want to yet again feel their oh-so-palpable chemistry in Total Dhamaal one more time! Really, what makes them so good?
This duo has only done two films together so far, but they have left a permanent mark on us with the way they have looked into each others’ eyes. It’s like they understand each other in and out. We hope to continue seeing them in the future as well!
This once-upon-a-time couple has done films like Bachna Ae Haseeno, Ye Jawani Hai Deewani, and Tamaasha together, and, despite their respective fates at the BO, the duo has always shone brightly as a day! Their love for each other was so evident at that point?

The current allegedly it-couple are going very strong on the professional front as well with films such as Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat (that too, without having a single frame together!) and oh yes, Finding Fanny too! (Check out DP’s marriage sequence in that one!). Don’t they look and feel as if they complete each other?
This duo will be remembered for the ULTRA MEMORABLE performances in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Ishq, amongst many other films that have lit up the golden age of cinema. What the era made shine more bright was the purity of emotions that they had towards each other was so prevalent!
The once super-hit couple of the Khiladi Kumar and the Sizzling Shetty had once become the Dhadkan of our hearts, made us stick to them even though one of them became a Jaanwar and also made us root for their Insaaf. I mean, just look at their filmography! This couple needs NO decoding!
This duo has been immortalized with films like Namak Haram and Mr. Natwarlal to name a few. Also, what we have loved the most about them is their ‘Silsila’! Their duo worked because one was balancing out the other!
There have hardly been any pairings that have worked across all genres, but Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan aren’t one of them! You can put them in a high-octane action film (Dhoom 2), a period drama (Jodhaa Akbar) or a coming-of-age but SUPER-DEPRESSING films like Guzaarish, they can make ANYTHING work! This again is a case of high emotional Intelligence!

This pair, by god, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye! The films that these two have done so far are the likes of Tees Maar Khan, Welcome and Singh is Kinng, to name a few. Here’s hoping to see more of them! This couple had a kind of charm that is still not all that well understood.
- Sridevi-Anil Kapoor
This pair is known for cult classics like Mr. India, Lamhe and Laadla, to name a few. Since then, we have been DYING to see them together! Back in the day, these two were simply NUTS on screen together and would inject humor into the most serious scenarios.
These two have done films like Yuva, Bas Itna Sa Khwab Hai and Bunty Aur Babli. And, this much is more than enough to hope for their reunion! Be it any film, their fondness for each other was so rich!

It all started with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara, post which they delivered a blockbuster like Bang Bang and since then, they are awaited to join hands on a mega project one more time! This is almost like a pairing of the Greek God and Goddess of Bollywood!
