Revisiting the 4 darkest chapters in the life of Sanjay Dutt!

Sanjay Dutt has lived his life king size! But there have been multiple occasions when he was reduced to being a pawn, a pawn in the hands of wrong company and unexpected circumstances, at least which was what was shown to us in his recent biopic Sanju. The actor is gearing up for the release of his next, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3. As it storms into the cinemas tomorrow, we revisit the four darkest chapters of the star’s life:-

1. The Drug Phase

Dutt has candidly spoken on multiple occasions how he was sucked into the menace that almost crippled his personal and professional life. The addiction began during the release of his debut film, Rocky in 1981 and lasted for almost a year-and-a-half. The fact that he was able to give up his enslavement to almost every possible drug in the market and come back to being normal itself seems a success story, let alone his box-office hits at that time!

2. The Multiple Love Affairs

Sanjay Dutt had 308 girlfriends, and it’s not a joke! His first liaison was with the then-actress Tina Munim but she called off the relationship due to his alcoholism and drug abuse. Dutt tied the knot with Richa Sharma in 1987 but she was sadly diagnosed with brain tumor and moved to the U.S. with her parents and passed away there in 1996. In between this, he began a romantic relationship with Madhuri Dixit but his arrest in the 1993 Bombay Blasts Case led to their love story going kaput. He got married for the second time to Rhea Pillai in 1998 but this marriage didn’t last long either.

3. The 1993 Bombay Blasts

The one incident that completely shattered the actor’s life was the 1993 Bombay Blasts. He was acquitted under the Arms Act but was declared not to be a terrorist. Dutt even said in an interview how he had to pay a heavy price for keeping an AK-56 at his residence. He even admitted to have links with the underworld and his conversation with Chhota Shakeel was even leaked during the early 2000’s.

4. Tiff with sister Priya Dutt

Sanjay Dutt moved towards politics and decided to join the Samajwadi Party. His sister Priya Dutt, a MP from Congress, was strongly against this decision and even spoke about their late father Sunil Dutt’s proximity to the party. But things have smoothed between the siblings now!
