“A Private War Inspired Me” – Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike is known for roles in movies such as Gone Girl will be next seen in the movie A Private War in which she plays the role of famous war journalist Marie Colvin.

In an interview with a leading daily, this is what she had to say about the movie “I think it’s a combination of things. Marie was a woman who I greatly admired, but I also thought it would be a story that other people, if they didn’t know her already, would find inspiring.

“Precisely because there’s the trope of the fearless war reporter, but here [in this story] is someone who is not fearless, who has tremendous fear, but also has tremendous belief and goes through that fear in the name of the cause she believes in.

The movie is directed by Matthew Heineman and it also stars Jamie Dornan and Stanley Tucci.

A Private War is based on a true story of War Journalist Marie Colvin who was killed in Syria while reporting on the war. The movie showcases the journey of Marie Colvin’s career, which includes how she lost her eye in Sri Lanka.
