WHAT! Amitabh Bachchan walks out of Sairat’s director’s next, Jhund

As reported by us earlier, Amitabh Bachchan, who’s currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming comedy, 102 Not Out, was all set to be directed by Nagraj Manjule, the man behind the Marathi blockbuster, Sairat, in his next film, Jhund. The film, reportedly, was based on a retired school teacher who starts a slum soccer movement. However, the megastar is no longer a part of the movement.

According to sources, Mr. Bachchan had allotted his dates to the makers last year but after innumerable delays, that too without any clarification from them, opted out gracefully as he had other films lined up as well. This is quite disappointing to know because Nagraj said in one of his interviews that he has always been an Amitabh Bachchan admirer. He said he used to go to school with his shirt tails tied, reminiscent of Big B from the 1975 Deewaar. The filmmaker also spoke about Jhund, “I started working on the script after Sairat was wrapped up. Even though it is based on a real-life character, the way I’ve written the part and the film, it moves far away from the source.”

Now, it’ll be interesting to see which actor from the industry will fill in his shoes. As far as Amitabh Bachchan’s work commitments are concerned, after 102 Not Out, the actor will be seen in YRF’s Thugs Of Hindostan, where he will collaborate with Aamir Khan for the first time. The film is all set to release on the 7th of November this year, on the occasion of Diwali.
