Homi Adajani dismisses claims of Takadum being shelved

Rumours of Homi Adajania’s next being shelved surfaced all over media and the director has finally spoken up.

Homi Adajanis’s next venture Takadum starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Pareeniti Chopra and Irrfan Khan was announced last year and was scheduled to go on floors last October. The shooting hasn’t started yet, making everyone speculate that film has been shelved.

With all these rumours making rounds, Homi has opened up about the reason for the delay while talking to a leading tabloid.

“When it (story) got translated from an English set-up to Hindi, it seemed like a forced fit in Mumbai. I tried to fix it then, but [that did not work out]. Now, it (the film) has gone for rewriting. It’s not shelved; it’s still an open working possibility,” said Homi

Homi gave a gist about what actually went wrong as he said, “I was very happy with the initial story. It’s a story based in New York in English and I was trying to put in the Mumbai set up. When we translated it, I felt people like this don’t exist in Mumbai I felt it was forced”

The director added that the entire team had agreed upon working on the script thoroughly “We all agreed (on not doing the film). We took a creative decision that let’s not jump into it even though we were close to starting the shoot The actors also graciously agreed as we all wanted to make it (film) the best. So we have to rewrite it and then start,” he said

This will be the second time Sushant Singh Rajput and Pareeniti Chopra will be seen romancing on screen after Shuddh Desi Romance in 2013.
