Here is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s response to those who called her a cougar
Many of us felt that a major attraction of Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ was definitely Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The 43-year-old actress has slayed it with her beauty, her style and of course her acting and has surely made a wonderful comeback! However, some people did not appreciate her role of an elder women who gets involved in a predominantly physical relationship with a younger man (essayed by Ranbir Kapoor) or that of a cougar and she has been criticised for that. Her in-laws (Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan) were also reportedly not too fond of the idea of Aishwarya doing intimate scenes and photo-shoots with her co-star, Ranbir.
Nevertheless, all these do not seem to bother or demoralise the actress in any way as she clearly sounded very positive in her reply, when quizzed on this. “If you see the online response to trailers, you’ll see that most people responded to my character Saba, with excitement, love and positivity. She’s strong and radiates individuality…so the response has been gratifying,” expressed the actress.
Why did she choose ‘ADHM’? Aishwarya confessed, “The truth is, Karan is a friend. He asked and I said a yes, as I liked the role. I had always wanted to work with Karan; there were many missed opportunities, and I didn’t want this to be one again. The film was an act of friendship.”
Aishwarya turned 43 on November 1 but we feel, age has failed to leave an impact on the beautiful woman, be it in reel or real life!
