Aamir Khan has been prepping to play an astronaut in his next

Recently, news broke out that Aamir Khan is making a film on the life of astronaut Rakesh Sharma and will be portraying him in the film. Recent reports suggest that the actor is trying to make the film in question for the past eight years.

In an interview with a leading daily, Rakesh Sharma said, “This (the discussions about the biopic on his life) has been going on for the last eight years now. It has taken long to come to this point. The filmmakers were busy with other projects and I was busy too. It is a very tedious affair. It’s still in the offing and Aamir Khan is going to play my role. But the rest has not been finalized. It all depends on how the movie is handled. Even the final script is not locked yet, so I don’t know what parts of my life will be portrayed on screen.”

A source close to the project also told the daily, “Things are in a preliminary stage right now. Aamir will meet Rakesh soon because people know the way he functions. Aamir is a perfectionist and he would like to do things with immense research.”

The film is being proposed by Siddharth Roy Kapur.
