5 Movies About War You Should Watch Right Now!

We believe that the only way people can experience the horrifying stories and tales of any war is through movies. Despite the genre being totally gruesome in nature, watching war movies is pretty damn amusing and there’s no doubt it. What are the best war movies? Well, we’ll list down the top 5 war-related movies that we 100% recommend. Mind you, this is not the top 5 list. This is what we think will give you strong feelings. So without further ado, here are a slew of options for you, in case you’re in the mood to watch something war-related.

1. Beasts of No Nation (2015)

The Beasts of No Nation throws light on the unfortunate plight of child soldiers. Based on the novel by Uzodinma Iweala of the same name, this movie is emotionally brutal as the audience is made to witness the transformation of a down-to-earth, easy-going child to a well-trained soldier. You can literally feel the psychological inhumanness the child goes through and, we must say, it’s not meant for the light-hearted

2. A Private War

A coming-of-age movie, A Private War exposes the hostile behind-the-scenes of what war really feels like. Starring Rosamund Pike as war journalist Marie Colvin, this movie divulges into what Marie had to go through as she strived to find out the real truth in the middle of a war. This is definitely a harrowing film to watch.

3. First They Killed My Father (2017)

Based on the memoir First They Killed My Father (by Loung Ung), this movie talks about the carnages that occurred during the Cambodian Civil War from the point of view of a five-year-old kid. Imagine visualizing war upfront from a kid’s POV. Ghastly, isn’t it?

4. A War (2015)

This movie will keep you at the edge of your seats because as an audience you’re made to witness the sprawling war in Afghanistan as Danish troops are assigned to a Taliban territory. You really feel the moral dilemma and passion underneath the surface every scene.

5. Pearl Harbor (2001)

The event that led to World War II can never be forgotten and that’s why this Michael Bay is worth the watch.  Enough to make you screech at the sight of so much blood and havoc, this movie is a must-watch to truly understand the events of the attack on Pearl Harbour.
