When Amitabh Bachchan REFUSED money from Shah Rukh Khan!

As would perhaps be applicable anywhere, it’s equally important to build relations in an industry than just a mere contact list, and time and again, we have seen examples of that in the film industry itself, with one of the most recent instances being when the Bhaijaan of Bollywood, Salman Khan shot for a special song for his long-term buddy, Shah Rukh Khan, who will feature the sequence in question in his upcoming film, Zero.

In addition to that, for the sake of maintaining good relations with a fellow actor or director, we have often heard about how an actor ended up shooting for a special sequence for a film but charged nominal to no fees at all.

And now, we are bringing you a yet another example of that, which is bound to make you respect our Mahanayak, Amitabh Bachchan even more!

It so happened that for a 10-minute-part in one of King Khan’s home productions, Paheli, Amitabh Bachchan was roped in, which, as we all know, was done to perfection by him.

But, did he take any money for that? While recollecting that episode during an old interview, the Zero actor shared, “After finishing the shoot I wanted to pay Mr. Bachchan (10 million rupees) for the work he had done and got my office to write him out a cheque. I don’t write cheques anymore because I end up signing them ‘With love from Shah Rukh’ (laughs). I also wrote him a letter on behalf of Red Chillies, my production house, thanking him for his support, but he said he would never take money for working with me. You see it’s not about the money but about the way he went about doing my film. He turned up for work happily at 6 o’clock every morning. He’s a really kind gentleman and the greatest star I have ever been in touch with.”

Now, if what Amitabh Ji did for SRK isn’t the mark of a true gentleman, we don’t know what is!
