Sushant Singh Rajput justifies his name drop!
So, what we know until now is that the shooting of Sanjay Leela Bhansali‘s next Padmavati has been perhaps momentarily called off due to attacks on the sets by the Karni Sena, a Jaipur-based Rajput caste organization. The group acted on the grounds of improper representation of historical facts. In retaliation to this, Sushant Singh, a Rajput himself, dropped off his last name from his twitter handle about 3-days-ago. Here’s what he tweeted that day post the name drop:
We would suffer till the time we’re obsessed with our surnames.
If you’re that courageous, give us your first name to acknowledge.#padmavati— Sushant Singh Rajput (@itsSSR) January 27, 2017
When reached out for a comment to the actor, “I did it to show that the unfortunate action is not what everyone with that surname endorses. They do not represent the entire Rajputs. There are ways to express your ideas, but violence is never an answer, and that too just on a mere speculation.”
“There is no religion or caste bigger than humanity. And love and compassion makes us human. Any other division is done for selfish gains.” Tweeted by the M.S Dhoni: The Untold Story star yesterday.
Here’s what a twitter user said, and here’s what he got back:
I’ve not changed my surname idiot. I’m probably 10 times more Rajput than u are if you’re implying courage.I’m against the cowardly action. https://t.co/ZXdv183Bxr

Well said, Mahi! There’s an ale old saying that one isn’t known by names, but by action. And you are a living example of that #MaahiMaarRahaHai!
