Shah Rukh Khan: I have been hearing for 22 years that my career is over
Shah Rukh Khan chats about the pressure of delivering a blockbuster
Shah Rukh Khan, a name that’s considered synonymic to supremacy, charm and wit has had his share of ups and downs. Until Raees, which was SRK’s superhit; it was only King Khan’s fans who made sure that the films made money. Dilwale, Fan and Happy New Year haven’t been considered as blockbuster hits.
While Shah Rukh’s competitors Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have been delivering mega hits, SRK has a different perspective in mind. In an interview with a leading tabloid, SRK said that he has made movies only to entertain people and make the audiences ecstatic.
The star has commented on this saying – “There will be a film which will do badly, but there are so many of them which have done so well, too. So when you look at it, yes you hear smatterings of conversations. But I have been hearing it for 22 years that my career is over. Everyone keeps saying it, but people don’t understand the business, the intensity that most actors and actresses use to entertain people. I am just very happy releasing my films. If they like it, they will do well. If they don’t, then I feel sad that I wasn’t able to deliver my prime goal which is to touch your life for two-and-a-half hours.”
Shah Rukh will be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s next opposite Anushka Sharma, We’re keeping our fingers crossed for an SRK film which is both entertaining and a blockbuster hit as well!
