SATYAMEVA JAYATE: John & Manoj’s film lands in MAJOR trouble!
Political tensions and hostility aren’t new to Hindi movies. The latest victim is John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee’s Satyameva Jayate, which has landed itself in MAJOR trouble. A complaint has been filed against the film by the City General Secretary of the BJP Minority Morcha, Syed Ali Jaffry, for hurting ‘religious sentiments’.
A lawyer, aware of the complaint, stated, “The procession of Muharram has been depicted in a wrong way in the trailer. Our concerns are that the movie’s plot is based on corruption and the lead role is being played by John Abraham, who is avenging the wrongdoings on him. The makers could have very well completed the film without having a scene with the Muharram procession. The movie’s plot has nothing to do with Muharram. All these things are outraging religious feelings of a particular sect.”
Syed Jaffry has filed the police complaint against the makers with the Hyderabad Police and stated that the particular scene in question hasn’t only hurt him but the entire ‘Shia Community’. The Hyderabad Police are yet to have a look at the trailer.
The film is all set to release on the 15th of August, 2018 and clash with Akshay Kumar’s Gold and Deols’ Yamla Pagla Deewana: Phir Se.
