A few months ago, there were reports that Ayushmann Khurrana, John Abraham and Shoojit Sircar will reunite after Vicky Donor for a biopic on Shibdas Bhaduri, the captain of the iconic football club, Mohun Bagan. This is an important and proud moment that was lost in history, the iconic match of 1911 against the East Yorkshire Regiment that left everyone with Goosebumps. Earlier, Khurrana was roped in to play the titular character and Sircar was set to direct the film. However, both the actor and the director now stand disassociated with the film, with reasons best known to them.
Now, Abraham, who’ll also produce the film, will essay the central character and he has roped in his Salaam-E-Ishq and Batla House director, Nikkhil Advani to helm this biopic. Advani, talking about getting the opportunity to direct such a crucial film, stated, “Totally honoured that John Abraham entrusted me to tell the story of 1911’. Truly an inspiring story of an iconic event in our country’s history. Wait for it!”
We can’t wait for the film now!
