Not Akki, but Ajay to do a film on the Raniganj Coalfield rescue mission
We had earlier reported that Akshay Kumar will be seen portraying the role of Jaswant Singh Gill, the hero of the 1989 Raniganj coalfield rescue operation, in a film. But seem’s like the makers of the film have changed their mind and approached Ajay Devgn for the project.
A source close to the film has quoted to a tabloid “The makers have acquired the official rights to the life story of JS Gill for the yet-untitled film. Work on the script has already begun and Ajay will go through extensive prep before he starts shooting next year.”
The untitled project will be based on the story of the Raniganj Coalfield rescue mission of 1989. The film will focus on the hero of the rescue operation, J.S. Gill, who was the Additional Chief Mining Engineer. He had risked his life and gone down the borehole in the capsule and evacuated 64 miners, trapped underground.
Looks like Ajay Devgn is becoming the choice of many producers. Recently Ajay stepped into the shoes of Sanjay Dutt for the third instalment of the Dhamaal franchise-Total Dhamaal.
Devgn is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Baadshaho. He has also lined up Golmaal Again, which will hit the screens this Diwali.
