Should Kareena Kapoor Khan play Madhubala in her biopic?
Madhubala was that one actress whose work can never be forgotten by anyone who has seen her performances in a cult film like Mughal-E-Azam. The world was taken by shock when she suddenly left us all on the eve of 23rd February 1969.
Fast forward to yesterday, where Madamme Tussauds, Delhi unveiled a wax statue of the late legend which was inspired by her character of Anarkali from Mughal-E-Azam. We feel that she should have got a statue of her own very long ago, but HEY, better late than never, right?
Present at the event was the late actress’ sister, Madhur Brij, who was asked a question that if she had to choose anyone to play Madhubala in her biopic, who would it be?
She expressed her desire of having Kareena Kapoor Khan play Madhubala’s role if a film on her life is ever made. She said “There was a time when I wanted Madhuri Dixit to play the role of Madhubala in her biopic but now it has to be Kareena Kapoor Khan as she has the same naughtiness that Madhubala used to have and she is a beautiful actress too,”
So, does that mean that she was the same at home?
“Madhubala was very simple at home. She was elder but never bossy and she used to encourage all of us to come in films,”
Well, that’s a very interesting comparison between Bebo and Madhubala.
