WHAT! Karan Johar to be jailed for 5 years
Karan Johar who is currently shooting for his talent based reality show India’s Next Superstar has landed himself in trouble.
Apparently, the Delhi Health Department has filed a case against Karan Johar, Endemol Productions, and Kamla Pasand. The reason behind this the showcase of Kamla Pasand advertisement during India’s Next Superstar. The name of Dharma Productions was broadcasted before the show begins and hence Karan Johar has been sent a notice.
The reason given by the department to issue a notice is that India’s Next Superstar is mainly viewed by the youngsters and the Kamla Pasand advertisement could have a bad impact on them.
Reportedly, Karan has been served with a notice twice for the violation of the COTPA (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act) Act and could be sent to jail for a period of 5 years and along with a penalty of Rs. 2000.
Not just Kran but all the people related to the show are found guilty of the incident.
Everyone accused in the case has been given 10 days to register their answer. If any of the fails to do so that a case will be filed against them by the Delhi Health Department.
