Even though Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus, Padmaavat (the review of which you can find Right Here!) is just a few hours away from its much-awaited release, the troubles have anything but abated, but now, with a few members of the original vandals, the Karni Sena, getting arrested, we do see now some ray of hope.
As some will remember, around 1900 women have already reportedly taken consent for “Jauhar”, which is essentially the act burning oneself alive and even the climax of the magnum opus (This is NOT a spoiler, it has been very much talked about.)
And now, The local police has reportedly swooped down on the residences of Karni Sena Chittorgarh unit President, Govind Singh Khangarot, and Vice President Kamlendu Singh Solanki at 11 p.m. on Tuesday and arrested them. On top of that, the cops also nailed down Devendra Singh, one of the main members of the organization.
Rajpratap Singh, who is the media in charge of this (heinous) organization, said, “Police are trying their best to curb our protest. We are not being allowed to take out a rally or stage protest. There is ‘nakabandi’ all around and strict police arrangements have been made in this town. We have called a meeting and will unveil our next phase of action by evening after a call taken by our Chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi,”
Making some severely astonishing statements, a spokesperson from the Chittorgargh unit said, “If we want, we can choose violent ways and disturb people and tourists. However, on the contrary, our women have decided to opt for Jauhar (mass immolation) without disturbing anyone,”
