Kaabil to overcome language barriers down south!
25th is the momentous day when two big ticket releases of Bollywood, SRK-Mahira starrer Raees and Hrithik-Yami starrer Kaabil, will go to war with each other at the box office. Only time will decide the ultimate victor of this cinematic clash. But it seems like Kaabil has an edge over Raees down-south!
Although conventional wisdom states that star-power and a huge fan base is enough to bag in major box office collections, the movie makers of Kaabil have a different belief in mind: Language is important! Keeping that in mind, Kaabil will be released, along with Hindi, dubbed in Tamil, Telegu and Malayalam, termed as Balam. The movie will be releasing in Hindi and Tamil across 160 screens in south India, and even though Hrithik has a huge fan base as well down there. This gives our Duggu an advantage over Shah Rukh Khan, since Raees does not have an alternate version.
This has been done in mind keeping in mind that the native language Hindi isn’t often well spoken or understood in certain regions of India. In the past, Hrithik’s releases such as Dhoom 2, Krrish, Krrish 3, Jodha Akbar and Bang Bang had been released in Tamil and created a rage in South-Indian theaters.
Kaabil is the story of a blind man who is compelled to act in revenge for his loved one, which features Yami Gautam and the Roy brothers (Rohit and Ronit) in pivotal roles. While Raees, on the other hand is the story of a bootlegger from Gujrat, featuring actress Mahira Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in crucial supporting roles.
Two big stars, two interesting stories, one day. This clash is undoubtedly going to be an interesting one!
