The film is releasing on the 25th of May, 2018, so a lot of people might question the decision of the makers to release the trailer just two weeks before the release of the film. Well, it’s because today marks the 20th anniversary of Pokhran II, a series of five nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by India at the Indian Army’s Pokhran Test Range in May 1998. It was the second Indian nuclear test; the first test, code-named Smiling Buddha, was conducted in May 1974.
Parmanu narrates the tale of one of the most crucial and historic events of Independent India, and the trailer seems to be just the tip of the iceberg. Also starring Diana Penty and Boman Irani in pivotal roles, Parmanu could be the next sleeper-hit of the year.
