Censor Board goes snip-snip on Vidya Balan’s ‘Begum Jaan’!
Vidya does yet another racy character in her next film, the censor board cuts multiple scenes!
Vidya Balan is back to the big screen with another racy film titled ‘Begum Jaan’. The story revolves around a brothel whose madam is played by none other than Vidya. The film also stars Naseeruddin Shah and Gauhar Khan, and is produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt. But Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has given the film an ‘A’ certificate and ordered 11 cuts.
A source close to the film said, “The cuts include a few cuss words and some inflammatory dialogues.” Mukesh Bhatt also added, “The cuts are fair. We will not contest it or go to any tribunal. The essence of the film has not been tampered, even a wee bit.”
Directed by Srijit Mukherjee, ‘Begum Jaan’, is expected to hit theatres in March, 2017.
