CBFC’S Cheif Pahlaj Nihalani to be replaced soon?

Certain government sources state that CBFC Chief Mr Pahlaj Nihalani will soon be replaced! You absolutely read that right! A meeting called by the members of the CBFC that is to take place in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday, July 28 is where this decision might be taken. The CBFC functions under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting which also stated that Pahlaj Nihalani has been given a signal that he might be replaced soon.

Pahlaj Nihalani is known for the controversies he’s created with regard to the word “intercourse” in Jab Harry Met Sejal’s trailer, his perspective on Lipstick Under My Burkha being too “Lady Oriented” and how Anushka Sharma’s NH10 had to be delayed by a week – this list of the censor boards cuts can go on and on.

Now that Mr Pahlaj Nihalani will be soon gone, who will take his powerful throne? Well, we hear that filmmaker Prakash Jha and Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi are being considered for the position. Other than these two, the CBFC is also considering Madhur Bhandarkar.
