BOX OFFICE BATTLE: It’s Simran vs Lucknow Central
The Indian box office saw the release of two highly anticipated films this weekend, Farhan Akhtar’s Lucknow Central and the fiery Kangana Ranaut’s Simran. The two, going by their opening box office numbers, are not really living up to the expectations at the box office. If the films need to be profitable, there must be a strong word of mouth and that must happen really fast since the coming Friday will see the release of Bhoomi and Haseena Parkar, and then Judwaa 2 on the 29th of September.
The box office numbers of Farhan Akhtar’s Lucknow Central are as follows:
Friday (September 15, 2017): 2.04 crores
Saturday (September 16, 2017): 2.82 crores
Sunday (September 17, 2017): 3.56 crores
Total: 8.42 crores
On the other hand, here’s how much Kangana Ranaut’s Simran has raked in so far:
Friday (September 15, 2017): 2.77 crores
Saturday (September 16, 2017): 3.76 crores
Sunday (September 17, 2017): 4.12 crores
Total: 10.65 crores
By the looks of it, Simran is currently beating Farhan Akhtar’s Lucknow Central at the box office. We aren’t surprised to see that, though since Simran was relatively a better film than Farhan Akhtar’s prison escape drama.
Let’s see how the two films hold up against the big releases in the coming days at the box office
