Big B said ‘NO’ to the Queen’s invitation!
Amitabh Bachchan declines the Queen invite!
We got to know this Monday that Amitabh Bachchan had received an invitation from Queen Elizabeth II who will be hosting the UK-India Year of Culture launch at the Buckingham Palace.
This event will see high profile guests from both the countries and this extended special invitation to Big B was given by the Queen and Prince Philip, the duke of Edinburgh.
Sources close to the veteran actor blamed it on scheduled dates and said, “Prior commitments are making it impossible for him to fly to London for the gala. He has already extended his regret to the invitation, citing pre-scheduled commitments, but is honored to receive a special invite from Buckingham Palace.”
Sources close to Big B said, “Yes, Mr. Bachchan has been extended a rare invitation by Queen Elizabeth and Buckingham Palace to grace the UK-India Cultural Year reception. Unfortunately, however, he will be unable to attend due to prior commitments.”
Hmm, it’s true that Bachchan sahab has a packed diary that includes the trailer launch of his upcoming Sarkar 3 in the first week of March, but shouldn’t he have accepted the invite? He will also be gearing up for Thugs of Hindostan with Aamir Khan and Gaurang Doshi’s Aankhen 2. His other upcoming projects include Ayan Mukherji’s Dragon and Kabir Khan’s 2016 Sairat.
Wow! Looks like Amitabh Bachchan has a jam-packed schedule for 2017!
