Bappi Lahiri nominated for Oscars and the Golden Globe Awards 2017!
Not many are familiar with the fact that Music Composer, Music Director, Singer & Record Producer Bappi Lahiri is nominated for his music for two films at the Oscars 2017 & Golden Globes Awards for -“Best Animated film – Moana” & “Best Film – Lion“.
It is the first time in history that someone from the Indian Music Fraternity is nominated for two Oscars and Two Golden Globe awards. The composer who has not only composed the music for ‘Moana’ and ‘Lion’ but also lent his voice for both the films.
The award nominee Bappi Lahiri himself said, “This year has bought the best gift for me. I feel 2017 is a big blessing of my long journey in musical life. I thank God, my parents, my family and all my fans all over the world. I feel proud to glorify our country on an International platform. Not just me, the entire team of Moana, Lion are over the moon. For me it’s not about the win, it’s about recognition & appreciation. I hope the best person wins.”
He further added, “India is making its way to Hollywood not just in the field of entertainment & performing arts but everywhere. There is a feeling of acceptance and acknowledgment which feels nice.”
Whoever said ‘Old is Gold’ was surely referring to Bappi Da!
