Anurag Kashyap has something to say about ‘Haraamkhor’!

Haraamkhor might be a controversial title for this film, but the storyline runs much deeper. Read Anurag Kashyap’s view of the film right here…

Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer ‘Haramkhor’ is all set to release on 13th January, 2017. The film is directed by debutant Shlok Sharma and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. Anurag has always been bold about his freedom of expression and now, the director-producer had a lot to say about his upcoming venture named ‘Haramkhor’.

The journey has been tough for the film as it was made by the funding via Facebook all under 1 crore. Anurag thought that a lot of people had problems with the title of the film. He also faced the same issue with the censor board and said, “CBFC had a problem with it, not even passing it (the film) because they thought the film was objectionable, whereas the contrary point of view is very different. Our biggest victory is that the film that they (CBFC) were not clearing has got a U/A certificate saying that it’s an important film for people to watch, and that can only happen in a higher court where people are intelligent, objective and understand that freedom.”

Anurag Kashyap further added more about the film which is located in the rural areas of Gujrat, “I’m saying thank god rural milieu is finding space in cinema. Foreign representation is like traveling for entertainment. Cinema also has to be about the country it is from… Rural milieu gives you an identity that the film is from India and it is for Indians. And people want to watch that.”

Anurag Kashyap is surely going back to his own roots for Haraamkhor, here’s hoping this film is a succes!
