Ajay Devgn looks fierce as Taanaji, The Legendary Maratha Warrior
We know what we will see Ajay Devgn in post-Baadshaho and Golmaal Again. He will be seen portraying the life of Subedar Taanaji Malusare on the big screen this 2019!
For all those who are unaware, the legendary Maratha warrior Subedar Taanaji Malusare (to be now played by Ajay Devgn) was a close friend and aide to Chhatrapati Shivaji who is better known for the Battle Of Singdad, where he reclaimed the fortress of Kondana with the help of his pet monitor lizard (Which is right next to Ajay Devgn’s feet in the poster)
Post entering the heavily guarded fortress, a fierce battle took place between Taanaji and Udaybhan Rathod (We still have to know as to who will play him) Although Taanaji lost his life in the battle, he is remembered even today by playing a vital part of various Marathi Ballads. Now, Ajay Devgn will be elaborating his life on the big screen.
We had reported earlier that Ajay Devgn will be venturing into Marathi Cinema, but portraying a Marathi legend is certainly a pleasant surprise.
Take a look at the poster that Ajay Devgn tweeted right here:
The caption of the poster read “He fought for his people, his soil and his king Chhatrapati Shivaji. The unsung warrior of glorious Indian history, Subedar Taanaji Malusare.”
Taanaji is a co-production of Viacom 18 motion pictures and will be directed by Om Raut, the one who helmed 2015’s Lokmanya Ek Yugpurush.
We just can’t wait to hear more about the film!
