After Sanju, get ready to see another Sanjay Dutt biopic!

Sanju is one of the biggest blockbusters of all time and the film’s success has benefited both Sanjay Dutt and Ranbir Kapoor. But it seems it wasn’t a sweet success for the makers as it came under the radar of quite a few people who criticized it for being a blatant attempt to brush Dutt’s misdemeanors and sins under the carpet. A lot of them looked at the film with disdain and called it a mere PR exercise.

For all those disappointed by Rajkumar Hirani’s portrayal of the actor’s most trying times, a filmmaker known for effortlessly seaming crime, drama and thrill into his films’ narrative is all set to make another film on the Vaastav star. It’s none other than controversy’s favorite child, Ram Gopal Varma. And apparently, the film will only focus on the actor’s involvement in the 1993 Bombay Blasts. When asked him about the same recently, he said, “Yes, I’m making the film”. A source said, “That Dutt was doing drugs, was traumatized by his mother’s battle with cancer [she died just three days before the release of his first film Rocky], had multiple flings, many of them one night stands, is all well documented, what people wanted was background information that only Sanjay would know on the controversy which dogged him for over two decades.”

The source also added, “Ramu has been meeting Sanjay’s associates and cops involved with the investigation as part of his research.” Given how crime sagas have been his oeuvre, he seems to be the best choice to portray the dark side of Sanjay Dutt, sans fracturing the truth, as to what he has claimed! Two major questions here- Who will portray Sanjay Dutt this time & Will he even allow another film on his life?
