This is how much Shah Rukh, Aamir & Salman Khan’s debut films earned!
Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, despite being in the industry for over three decades, continue to rule the roost and mesmerize the audiences on the marquee. And ever since Aamir’s Ghajini created history by becoming the first Hindi film to cross the 100-crore mark at the domestic markets, the trade and the media opened a new club called the 100 CRORE CLUB. And it’s almost a cakewalk for all the three Khans to comfortably march towards that benchmark.
But let’s talk about the business of their films when the social media phenomenon hadn’t kicked-in and the world wasn’t obsessed with their films’ box-office collections, the times when fans didn’t fight and relentlessly abuse each other and argued who’s a bigger star. Given how scarce the number of screens in our country was, it’s still commendable how much money their debut films raked in. Have a look right here:-
1. Salman Khan- Maine Pyar Kiya (1989)
It was the highest grossing Hindi film of that year and made over 15 crores at the box-office.
2. Aamir Khan- Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988)
This musical blockbuster made 4.70 crores in its lifetime run and gave birth to two future stars- Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla.
3. Shah Rukh Khan- Deewana (1992)
The only Khan sans a film lineage and breaking through television, SRK got the opportunity to work with a veteran like Rishi Kapoor and the then mega-star, the late Divya Bharti. Thanks to the star value, some popular music and also the charm he brought with his rawness, Deewana collected 7.70 crores and SRK arrived.
