Is Salman Khan a lucky mascot for Shah Rukh Khan?
One of the most iconic male lead Jodis is the evergreen pair of two of B-Town’s biggest superstars, Salman Khan & Shah Rukh Khan. The relationship of the duo have seen many peaks and valleys as they started off as friends during the Karan Arjun days, but things did get sour eventually and then the friends turned into foes. Soon, their bond became a bittersweet one and now fast forward to today, they are BACK to being the besties they started off as!
But, in the middle of their relationship, which has been tested by time and again, SRK has made a point to have the Tiger Zinda Hai star on board for a special appearance at least, time and again. Either that or we have seen Bhai in a full-fledged supporting role. And, given the manner in which the Shah Rukh Khan-starrers (The ones which have had a dash of Salman) have fared at the ticket counters, it would be safe to say that the Bhai of Bollywood is our King Khan’s lucky charm!
Check out two SRK films which have seen Salman in a special appearance right here:
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
When Karan Johar decided to become a director, he chose to start off his filmography with the Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kajol-starrer Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The film also saw a special appearance by Salman in it. And, BOY what a directorial debut it was! The film, as per Box Office India, turned out to be one of the highest grossers of the year it hit theatres in! Sure, the content of the flick was strong, but star power always helps!
Om Shanti Om
The 2007 blockbuster, Om Shanti Om was Shah Rukh Khan’s fourth film as a producer. The production house, which is said to be worth over 1000 crores now, delivered two average box office performers in the form of Kaal and Paheli (Both in 2005) after Red Chillies started off with a bang with Main Hoon Na (2004). And then, came in the film which was also the Bollywood debut of Deepika Padukone. As is well known, Salman had made a splash in the famous Deewaangi Deewaangi song, and boy we are still not over it! Om Shanti Om, which was made on a budget of 40 crores, went on to gross about 150 crores worldwide! Lagta hai ye hai SRK-Salman ki deewaangi!
Zero
And now, we are going to see the duo yet again in SRK’s biggest project till date, the Aanand L Rai-directed Zero. We have already seen a short glimpse of the same, courtesy the teaser. Will the duo set the box office on fire one more time? Fingers crossed!
