Bollyworm Crystal Globe: 2018 to be a year of Star Kids?
Unarguably, 2017 will not be remembered as a good year for the movies, as certain changes in trend (maybe for the better) have been witnessed. 2017 has singlehandedly proven that a big banner and star power, apart from a few exceptions, will NOT AT ALL be enough to sell tickets until and unless the film has a rock-solid story.
But, apart from that, this year will be remembered for the fact that many star kids have taken the decision of becoming an actor and some of them have already begun shooting for their debut!
So, let’s take a look at five such celebrity kids who will be seen taking it to the big screen in 2018!
Sara Ali Khan: Of course, when one is talking about a promising star kid debutant from B-Town, that list is bound to have the Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter darling, Sara Ali Khan. As is well known, before she hopped onto the Kedarnath bandwagon, she was linked to almost every upcoming big scale movie that you would have heard of in this year. But, in spite of that, she finally signed the Sushant Singh Rajput-starring Abhishek Kapoor directorial and if rumors are to be believed, a large chunk of the film is already done with! The film is set to release in December 2018.
Jhanvi Kapoor: Since the day Sridevi spilled the beans on the fact that her daughter, Jhanvi has decided to be an actor, we had been waiting to hear more about the gorgeous diva kid’s grand Bollywood debut, until Karan Johar unveiled the first look posters of Dhadak. The film in question is a remake of the Marathi blockbuster, Sairat and if KJo’s social feeds are to go by, the shoot is progressing rapidly.
Ishaan Khatter: Having already bagged the best actor award for his acting debut, Beyond The Clouds, Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan already comes with a lot of credibility and pressure as far as with his upcoming Bollywood debut film, Dhadak is concerned. Although, admittedly, we haven’t seen the Majid Majidi directorial just yet, but, obviously that award didn’t come in easy. Will Karan and director Shashank Khaitan be able to establish him as a Hindi film hero? We shall see.
Karan Deol: since the announcement by none other than daddy Sunny Deol, we have been waiting to see as to how will Karan, being the third generation of the Deols in the entertainment industry, take the legacy forward. Although we have no snippets of Karan in action from any of the BTS posts by Sunny, we know for sure that Karan’s debut film, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, is being shot in super-chilly conditions. Looks like Sunny already wants to establish his son as Bollywood’s next He-Man already!
Ananya Pandey: We know the moment you heard the name Ananya Pandey, the word Student Of The Year 2 crawled out from the back of your minds, and rightly so! Now that other rumored leading ladies such as Sara and Disha Patani have already moved on to their respective films, she is said to be considered for the part of one of the leading ladies in the Tiger Shroff-starrer. We have no confirmation on that just yet, but we have our fingers crossed!
