Arjun Rampal’s Journey from Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat to Daddy
Arjun Rampal‘s career has been a roller coaster ride. From making his first appearance in the remix video of Kina Sona Tenu by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to winning the National Award for Rock On!!, the actor has gone through a lot. Over the years he has improved a lot as an actor and is considered as one of India’s most versatile actors. He has acted in all genres including romance, action, thriller, and comedy.
Arjun began his Bollywood career with Rajiv Rai’s romance Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat. His first performance received a lot of appreciation from everyone.
But soon after Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat followed a dull phase in his career. He gave back to back flops like Deewaanapan, Dil Hai Tumhaara, Tehzeeb, Dil Ka Rishta. His career took a turn when he played the character of Jasjeet Ahuja in Don. After that there was no looking back for him.
He then worked in the superhit Om Shanti Om where he played a baddie in the film and we must say he nailed the role. Followed by the success of Om Shanti Om, he gave yet another fantastic performance in Rock On!! as Joe. He played the lead guitarist of a band. His performance was appreciated a lot in the film so much so that he earned the prestigious National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor at the 56th National Film Awards. After Rock On!! he gave some good performance in Housefull, Raajneeti and We Are Family.
In 2011 he once again played the negative role in the science fiction film Ra.One opposite Shah Rukh Khan. After Ra.One his career on a down low. Even in this phase, he gave some good performances in movies like Chakravyuh, Inkaar, D-Day, Satyagraha in 2013.
After Satyagraha Arjun remained absent from the screen for 2 years. In 2015 he came in Roy. The film received a mixed response from the critics but it failed very badly at the box office.
After Roy, he was seen in Rock On!! 2 and Kahaani 2. Both films released back to back and failed miserably at the box office.
Well, Arjun Rampal is yet again going to surprise us all with his upcoming film Daddy. The movie has already created a lot of buzz amongst audience all thanks to Arjun Rampal and his uncanny resemblance to Mumbai’s most feared gangster, Arun Gawli. The teaser and the trailer of the film broke the internet and even before the release of the film the critics have appreciated Arjun and have even considered it as the best performance of Mr. Rampal.
Daddy will take you through the rough streets and back alleys of Central Mumbai. It shows the unbelievable true story of Arun Gawli. The man who went on to become the India’s most feared Gangster. Daddy will show the journey of Arun Gawli as he tries to enter politics. The story will be narrated from various perspectives and will over the journey of over four decades.
Directed by Ashim Ahluwalia, Daddy will hit the screens on September 8.
