Jennifer Lawrence of The Hunger Games fame has garnered a ton load of praises internationally for her latest outing, Red Sparrow. The flick in question is directed by Francis Lawrence and features JLaw as the ballerina-turned-spy with a Russian accent.
Picking up a different accent is never really easy, and no matter how accomplished JLaw is, she is no exception to that rule either.
Speaking about the hardships of picking up that accent, she was quoted by a leading magazine saying that, “For two weeks before the movie, Francis would say, ‘You should talk in the accent at home. Stay in the accent and talk to your friends in the accent’. I said, ‘Francis, I don’t have those kinds of friends. They would never call me again’,”
To which, she added that “I had never done a foreign accent before so I spent four months before the movie figuring out what kind of dialect she would have. Once you get there and you have the costume on, you become the character and it’s easier.”
Well, we can tell that it did!
