Here’s why Mowgli could be a BLOCKBUSTER in India!

One could perhaps safely that that you aren’t a 90’s kid (Or maybe even that of 80’s, for that matter) If you haven’t sung the iconic “Chadi Pehen Ke Phool Khila Hai” track along with Mowgli whenever a new episode of The Jungle Book was about to air on our ye old Doordarshan!

Since then, the legendary story of Mowgli has come a long way. We’ve witnessed Disney’s version of Mowgli’s story in films like The Jungle Book, the Jungle Book 2 and more recently, the live-action version of The Jungle Book that hit screens in 2016.

But now, we have a yet another retelling of the story (Courtesy: Warner Brothers) and that too by none other than Andy Serkis (of Planet Of The Apes film series) and Benedict Cumberbatch, and their version is dark, gritty and scary, to say the least!

As one would have noticed, unlike the previous films that have had our boy from the wild as it’s central character, this trailer promises that the film will primarily focus on the origins of the boy, who was deemed an outcast by the members of the wild and the humans, where the kid was eventually asked to exist amongst. The mere fact that the kid felt like an outsider wherever he went and his constant attempts to simply feel accepted in this trailer broke our hearts.

Long story short, the film promises to highlight how the kid, who was an outcast, is at the end of the day, a survivor and the legend that we know of him to be. So, while we may be all too aware about the kid’s shenanigans with his jungle gang, it would be safe to say that quite a few of us would have been curious about how Mowgli turned out to be the way he did? What did the poor soul had to go through to just belong somewhere? Such curiosities, we believe, are going to be the driving force behind the audience taking it to the theatres.

Apart from that, the film promises some breath-taking visuals that are on par with the most epic of epic dramas we have come across currently.

So, we guess the math is simple here. Nostalgic value + an unconventional take on Mowgli’s story + Stunning visuals and an envious star cast.
